Enjoy & Remember Great Times with us

A special place to relax and enjoy your holiday at any time of the year

I stayed at the Cables on business for 4 nights and from my initial welcome from Roger things only got better. A very helpful book of recommended places to eat was a great idea and very helpful being in a different area.
Breakfast is very well presented and you are given a choice. Beautiful bread and toasts and excellent coffee. Room is very adequately furnished and even a selection of toiletries in the bathroom should you have forgotten anything
Nothing was too much trouble for Roger Maureen and Max brilliant hosts and a brilliant B&B thank you

Stayed in this lovely B&B for the 2nd time with my partner and was not disappointed. Excellently run, homely B&B complete with great service throughout our stay.

The B&B is perfectly located beneath a cliff face, in-between Matlock’s main high street area (where the modern cocktail bars and restaurants are located), and the small village area (where the older pubs and real ales are situated). Each are around 5 minutes walk.

In terms of the breakfast, this is probably the best breakfast we’ve had at a B&B. Multiple options available and you get plenty of it!

We found the hot tub (complete with wine) as a particular highlight! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Activities & Attractions

Here are just a few our our favourites, see our Attractions Page for more details of the fabulous places to visit during your stay with us at The Cables.

High Tor

High Tor

High Tor is a lofty limestone crag which towers over Matlock Bath which used to be privately owned but now belongs to the local authority. This means that entrance is free, whereas at one time a fee had to be paid by visitors, including the climbers who scaled the sheer face of the crag to get there!

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House

Chatsworth is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and is one of the finest historic estates in the UK and is set in the heart beat of the Peak District National park. With famous works of art, a working farmyard, spectacular fountains and the finest shopping and eating, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Carsington Water

Carsington Water

Miles of off road paths, natural beauty, tranquil atmosphere and crystal clear waters combine to make Carsington Water a favourite of anglers, walkers, runners and  birdwatchers to name a few. It offers a range of water sports including windsurfing and sailing and combined with designer shops and a waterside restaurant, Carsington is the perfect day out.
